Ama Deus Shamanic Healing
Guarani (pronounced Gau ra nee) Indians who live deep in the Amazon jungle of central Brazil have used this ancient (over 6,000 years old) energy based Shamanic Healing technique for generations. For those of you who have watched the movie 'The Mission', these are the tribe that featured among the movie. They are one of the oldest cultures still in existence in the world today.
The Guarani people’s spiritual attitude has been influenced greatly through learning from their environment. Ama Deus (pronounced Amma day uss) healing is a way of life for these people. They believe that spirit and forces outside the spirit cause imbalances. It is rooted in their belief system that there is no illness! If the outside force or unwanted energy is removed, than balance may be restored!
Ama Deus is a powerful, energy-based natural healing technique. This system combine’s the love of the divine with ancient multidimensional symbols. These ancient symbols act as a vehicle for this shamanic vibrational energy. Although similar to Reiki, as it balances out energy centres, Ama Deus is used for much more specialised actions when healing. As with Reiki and other energy healing modalities, Ama Deus can be sent over long distances. It can also be used with other methods of healing.

The healing system was first brought to the West by Alberto Aguas, a third-generation Brazilian healer. His family lived among the Guarani people for generations. They provided the Guarani people with medical care as required and a mutual respect developed between the tribal shamans and the doctors. Through time the shamans began to share their system of healing. It was by this trusting relationship that this technique was passed on to Alberto Aguas. The Guarani people gave Alberto Aguas their blessing to pass on the knowledge of this magnificent Healing System.
As the Guarani people have no 'written' language, and Portuguese is the main language spoken in Brazil, Alberto Aguas decided to name the technique of healing 'Ama Deus' - meaning 'I love God' in Portuguese.
